You'll begin your first day in Cairo with a visit to the Giza Pyramids. Your tour guide will take you to see the impressive structures built by the famous kings of Egypt during the 4th dynasty, including the pyramids of Egypt, Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus. You'll learn about the history and significance of these ancient wonders, including their role as burial tombs for the half-god kings.
For an optional activity, you can enjoy Camel Riding in Giza and take beautiful photos with the help of your Bedouin guide. You'll also see the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple, which are part of the funerary complex of King Chephren.
Next, your driver will take you to the Saqqara Necropolis, where you'll see the oldest stone pyramid in Egypt, the Step Pyramid. Built by the famous architect Imhotep for his king Djoser of the 3rd dynasty, the pyramid is a fascinating example of the transitional phase in the development of royal burial tombs.
You'll also have the opportunity to visit the Pyramid of Teti and the tomb of his son-in-law, Kagemni, which is one of the most impressive tombs of the nobles due to its rich offering and hunting scenes inscribed on its walls.
After your day of exploring, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch at an Egyptian restaurant before heading to Memphis, now known as Mit Rahina, to see the open-air museum with its amazing artifacts, including the alabaster sphinx of Memphis and the colossal statue of Ramses II. Once your day tour ends, you'll be transferred back to your hotel.
Breakfast and lunch are included in this day's activities, ensuring that you have the energy to explore all that Egypt has to offer.
